Well, you might try to tell me that it does not fit this description because our current government was duly elected by the people. Was it really? Does a government that exists due to a combination of corruption, the nearly insurmountable power of incumbency and a majority vote from semi-literate people who are dependent on government handouts really represent the will of the people?

What you describe here is more of a mobocracy than a strong man dictatorship. That is the fallacy of accepting the premise that the majority has the moral right to overrule a minority. Conversely, I would agree with Voltaire that the best system of government would be a benevolent dictatorship – tempered by an occasional assignation – and would prefer that to a democracy.

That is, of the people who work hard to keep the country running only to have the results of their labor confiscated to support this evil circus?

These sheeple would vote for the devil himself, as long as he promised to keep the bread and circuses flowing. They have been so dumbed down by the public school factories that they are incapable of rational critical thinking.

I fear it is already too late. I see no way of stopping what is happening short of withdrawing our support of the system a la John Galt, or another Declaration of Independence and Revolution.
